These skills are built into aspects of the curriculum. Students are taught strategies for developing these skills in tutor time, on days when normal curriculum is suspended and students are given the opportunity to practise these skills in the curriculum via group work, problem solving, creative thinking and independent and critical thinking.
Opportunities to reflect on the importance of good social and emotional skills is built into lesson time as well as in assemblies, the Healthy Schools programme and by the Pastoral team.
